Finally a solution to the breakfast bread situation around here.

For some time now our boys have been hooked on pumpkin bread and yogurt for
breakfast. Ever since
this, the infamous pumpkin shortage, I
have been searching for a substitute.

About 2 months ago my wonderful wife thought up this variation of our pumpkin bread recipe and it has worked thus far.

Baby Food Surprise Bread -or- Big Fat Surprise Bread
(BFS bread)

2 c Sugar

2 eggs

2 4oz jars squash baby food stage 2

1 4oz jars sweet potato baby food stage 2

1 c Olive Oil

3 c Flour

1 t ground cloves

1 t ground nutmeg

1 t baking soda

1/2 t salt

1 T cinnamon

Cook at 350 for 50 minutes. 2 loaves.

We are now back from our 320 mile bike adventure vacation. All 4 kiddos and 1 dog still present and accounted for. Always nice to return home from a vacation (at least one of ours).

This trip was really amazing on many accounts but, especially amazing are all the people you meet along the way. Our kids are pretty young yet to marvel at the scenery or the actual canal history. But its fun for them and us to talk with others, camp with others and, in some cases receive some helpful assistance from other individuals out doing similar activities..

I'm thankful for the many people who helped us along the way and, the ones who made this trip a reality. Thanks Mom and Dad Kirsch without your generosity in driving the pick-up rig I don't know how we would have done this. [...]

I'm _VERY_ tempted to open this box..

There are only a few people who know what this box contains. If you look close enough you can make out what it is, but even that is not revealing - even on google.

The reason this box has shown up once again around here is that some of our house guests needed to relocate for a while. Relocating these house guests was necessary to set into motion some of the longer term ideas we have for the sub-surface area we have here (basement plans).

For now I'll let the Jura stay put..

This year was the first year the boys were jazzed about making up some
costumes and heading out for some trick-or-treating.

So they came up with
their idea for a costume and we worked a few weekends to make it happen. The
final work was completed by Matthew and I, he really was a big help on this.

Here is a picture of the boys just before departing on our adventure around
out into the evening.

Costume notes: train has smoke stack that accepts input, dishwasher has
silverware basket that accepts input. :-P

We stayed out for about 45m to an hour on our walk down Grant St.

Interesting things said:

This is so neat. We are going to all these peoples houses who
we don't even know. - Matthew
